The Purdue Music Gaming Club was founded in the fall of 2005 as the Purdue DDR Club. The founders, four brave and charismatic individuals, will forever go down in history as a few guys who had nothing better to do on Friday nights. Since then, the club has evolved to span all music/rhythm games, and we’re now the Purdue Music Gaming Club. Catchy, right?
The club meets every Thursday night from 7 PM – 10 PM in the basement of Beering Hall. We play a variety of games, but the ones you’ll see every week are Rock Band, Guitar Hero, and DDR (Dance Dance Revolution). Other games are primarily taken from Konami’s BEMANI series of music games (Pop’n Music, beatmania IIDX, etc.), but we’ll be busting out several other music-ish games this year, including Brutal Legend and Amplitude. Non-music games also have a tendency to pop up from time to time.
Dues are $10 per semester or $15 for the whole year. Money raised through dues purchases new gear for the club, provides maintenance for existing gear, and funds other club expenses (pizza for callout, parties, tournaments, etc).
Meeting Times
The club meets every Thursday night in the basement of Beering Hall from 7-10.
