We will be having our spring callout on Friday the 20th at 6 pm! Rock Band 3, Stepmania, and more will be available to play with HUGE song libraries to boot. The usual rules and club information will be shared and we’ll have an extra 45 minutes or so to kick the semester off. In addition, we will be visited by a very special guest! Don’t miss it!!

Due to equipment-related reasons, there will be no meeting on August 26th. The first unofficial meeting will be on September 2nd with the callout being on the following Friday (September 9th) at the special time of 6 PM.

If you’re a new person who happened across this webpage and you think you might be interested in playing some music-related games (or games in general, we’re thinking of adding new non-music games to the selection this year…like Super Smash Brothers), we’d definitely like to see you at the next meeting and/or callout. No worries if you think you’re too geeky or socially awkward or sucky at the games we have. This year our goal is to bring together as many gamers as possible so that we can all make lots of new friends…and have a ton of fun while we’re at it.

Anyway, it won’t happen again.  We’ll meet up again this Friday same time, same place.

It’s getting close to the start of the school year, so that means it’s time for the officers to get things together and start organizing.  We’re working on it.

For now, we know that meetings will once again be on Friday nights from 7-10 in the basement of Beering.  The first meeting will be on the 27th.

Regarding the callout, we have no set date yet.  It’ll probably be a couple weeks after classes start and an hour before a meeting.  More details later.

Dues this year will be $20/year or $15/semester.  We have a lot of things to buy this year, including Rock Band 3 and a new DDR pad.

As for next year, we have plans.  Big, huge, undefined plans.  Just you watch.  For now though, let’s just assume we’ll be moving the meetings back to Friday.

The BGR group is usually out by 8-8:30.  If they’re in your way, just politely push past them.

I have been informed by our presiding overlord that we WILL in fact be meeting this Thursday (01/14/09) at our normal time and place.  I’ve also heard a rumor that a certain Rock Band accessory we’ve not seen before may be in attendance, so if you’re into that sort of thing you should probably show up.

So, this is a humble appeal to you nameless wanderers:  Come visit us next semester.  “But Alex!” you say, “I’d love to come and play DDR, but I need to read through the Twilight books just one more time!” Nonsense.  I assure you, our company is far superior to such drivel.

Perhaps you’re almost on the verge of showing up, but your crippling social anxiety is preventing you from taking the plunge.  You needn’t worry about that:  Studies show that 73% of our new members are hilariously inept when it comes to public gatherings involving more than 4 people and a case of Mountain Dew.  Further studies show that 92% of those social misfits made a complete recovery and are now charming, witty, and attractive members of society.

So please, you owe it to yourself.  Come have some fun with us next semester.
