So, you know, don’t forget.
If you would like to help us put up flyers and chalk the campus, please meet in front of CL50 (the side with the painted tree) at 3PM on Sunday September 6th. Also, if you have a stapler please bring it. We’re going to be putting up a good number of these, so show up if you can, the help will be appreciated.
I’ve added a Flickr account for the club, which can be found over on our Media page. Thing is, I don’t have very many pictures from the club over the past few years, so if anybody out there has a bunch of photos, please send them to me so I can get them uploaded.
This picture is so old. Only two of those people even show up anymore. We need to do yearly group photos.
Quick note about last night’s meeting:
Apologies to anybody who showed up at Beering expecting there to be a meeting. Due to some miscommunication and unforeseen circumstances, some other club had our rooms reserved. Don’t worry though, we’ll have the rooms next and subsequent weeks.
Be sure to check out this site or our Twitter for future announcements concerning meeting cancellation or relocation.
Welcome to the Purdue Music Gaming Club’s new, functional, actually-used-and-updated website! I’m Alex, your witty, charming, and temporary webmaster, and I’ll be explaining what we’ll be doing with this website until Sage finishes the real site to end all sites.
First of all, as you have probably noticed, this site is a blog. As it is a blog, one of us will be adding new posts every time something interesting happens, such as club announcements, off-campus activities, etc. Also, being a blog, you are free to leave comments on the posts. I would encourage each and every one of you to click that little link in the sidebar to register for the site and keep your profile updated with relevant information (an email address you actually check, your bio, etc).
This site will also contain information about the club, such as meeting times, dues, and our available game list. Also, if you’re one of those odd people who use twitter, feel free to follow us @purduemgc. I haven’t decided whether or not to setup a forum yet, since the last one ultimately fell into disuse.
Finally, if you’re an officer, sign up and I’ll give you the authority to make new posts.
Any questions or suggestions, feel free to contact me.
Callout was Last Night
I certainly hope you attended. If you didn’t, man, you sure missed out. Over 9,000 people attended, and much fun was had by all while we ate pizza and played Rock Bands, Guitar Mans, and Dancing Arrows Hero. If, for some insignificant reason (such as class or SARS), you were absent from this monumentally important event, don’t worry: You can still come to our normal meetings every Thursday night from 7-10. We’ll just say mean things about you behind your back.
For those of you who did show up, remember: You have two free meetings to get a feel for things before dues are…due. So come back, keep mashing on our equipment, and decide whether the club is right for you.
